Illa Jones - A Local Celebrity

Illa Jones known has Billy to the government. But to all his fans he's know has Illa Jones he brings something fresh to the music something that hasn't been done before he speaks of personal life experiences most people can relate to and I a chance to interview him

AF: Illa Jones is such a unique alias. How did you come up with it?

Illa Jones:Well I wanted something that gave me a first and last name. I used to be just "Ill Jones," but for marketing reasons I added the 'a' at the end. The Illa represents my personality and the integrity of my music. Where I'm from, if you're ill, it means you have talent as a musician wether you're a lyricist or a producer. (And) with me being transplanted from home, my name always reminds me who I am and what I represent. As far as Jones, well, I feel like that last name is well respected. Therefore, Illa Jones.

AF: We've noticed that some of you're songs have touched very controversial topics especially for a teenager your age. For example, songs like "16" where you literally describe a suicidal phase you went through during your junior year in high school. Some people, including some of your own family members, have opposed you releasing those songs because of what it could've done to your image. How do you respond to that?

Illa Jones: I'm really glad you ask that. I always make sure to keep it real with my fans. There's thousands of kids out there who have gone though the same thing I did. Wether it was a situation at home or a situation like mine where I felt neglected by people who I trusted in, this song was 120% sincere. I would rather go down as a speaker who always kept it one hundred, than to lie to the world on wax to create the illusion that I'm ok.

AF:Wow that's real. With that being said, should we expect sequels to "16" or "Crazy Exboyfriend?"
Illa Jones: (Laughs) I hope not! I just want to make music that makes people feel good inside. Thats what I'm about. But don't get me wrong, events in life inspired me to write those songs, so I won't be suprised if they come up every once in a while .

AF: Illa there has been speculation, through the internet, within the last couple of weeks about the relationship between you and artist Jovonni. I think what everyone wants to know is, what's the current relationship between you and Jovonni?

Illa Jones: Well, before I answer that , let me just say Jovonni is a hard worker. I know from being around him that he is all about progressing and being successful, even at the cost of people he is close to. However to be honest, me and Jovonni are doing our own thing right now. He obviously has his own priorities and I have mine. I'm happy for his success already as an artist. He's still my brother-from-another- mother and I support him all the way, just as I know he fully supports me. No beef!

AF: This year you have had the opportunity to work with DMV sensations Tony Allure and iLIM. How has working with them changed you're own music?

Illa Jones: Yo big shout outs to the kid Tony and ILIM. Homieesss!!! (Laughs) I think they are the biggest reason why my music has changed so much in the past year. I feel like ever since I was working with them I started having fun with music again and not going to music when I only needed an outlet from the negatives of life. Tony and I recorded a cover to Ash Roth's 'I Love College' and made 'I'll Miss High School.' From that moment on I realized that I need to have fun again with music. I sat back in the studio and watched them record their mixtape while enjoying performing with them and its been a highlight for my career.

AF: Any closing statements?
Illa Jones: Live from New York, its the Jones show starring...Nah I'm just playing (laughs) The Jones Show is set to premiere on July 28th at approximately 9:00 PM. It will be hosted by the world-renowned DJ Green Lantern and DJ Smallz. I want to give a great big shout out to the Homies, Jovonni in your area, Shellz and everyone who has helped me in getting it done. Be yourself and say what you feel, because people who mind don't matter and people who matter don't mind. Jones!

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Look at this wardrobe choice, very simple but still fun & edgy in a corky kind of way. I got home late 2 days ago at say 2:30am perhaps and this movie caught my attenetion on television, the eye poppin colors seemed so.....(can't think of the word) but i'm sure you get what i'm saying. Check out the shoes, some say they'd be a nice gift for you grandpa for his golfing trip with his aging friend but some would say that this driving shoe would make a nice going out thing.
-The vest, (need I say more)
The leather jacket is also very cool, probably because it's not one of the regular black jackets we're all used to seeing on rebels but a cool off-white color.

Life Of A Legend: R.I.P. Michael Jackson

It didn't really hit me myself that Michael Jackson was dead until I got home late last night to find MTV playing a megamix of his greatest hits, while JC Chazes, called in to let us all remember the historic performance in 2001, with NSYNC* and how wonderful it was to meet him and be in his pressence. Then I had to think about him wanting to persue one more aln=bum and finish his tour off in London with all 500 sold out. What a wonderful, historic event to be apart of, if that would have happened. I'm also realizing that more than one decade has grown up knowing him or of his m=great music. He is the definition of a true icon! Just like Coca-Cola, this man was -is- WORLDWIDEKNOWN, even if you didn't like him, you still knew of him and what he did. Theres only once in a life time we can get an artist as worthy as Michael. Theres only a few Icon's in this world that I myself say that everyone knows of. Michael Jackson is dead but his music lives on. Forever & ever. His innovative performance, charisma, dramatic dance moves will be always known as his trademark & every male & female artist will try to attempt to be a great and ROYAL even, as the KING OF POP MUSIC.

Next: Sky Broadas

Ofcourse, everybody knows, SKY, bka, The Royal Rap Princess, is the hottest chick in the rap game. She is known as the flyest and most outrageous spoiled brat of MTV's My Super Sweet 16 (season 7, episode 2). At the sweet age of 17, Sky is a super star with a wise and musical mind. She has been apart of the rap game since the tender age of three. She is hyped by the industry. Her music is concidered more than hiphop. Glam Rap is what she would call it. With hits like, "Crush", "Like Dat", and "Saturday Love", an old 80's hit created by the blond bombshell, Cherrelle. Her favorite artists, are ofcourse her father, Damian, of the group Damian Dame. Her mother would say "follow in the footsteps". Her music reflects herself, and the life that she lives as a young fly chick in the world of entertainment. While Sky is working on fresh and new material for 09, She is getting ready for ultimate stardom, and the royal rap princess of Atl, is ready to become a Legend.

Marc Jacobs Fashion Week In Milan

Mr.Marc Jaobs is heavily influence by the working class look of the 80's. Don't get me wrong I beleive the retro street attire of the 80's retro comeback is tired, but, this is still cool & different, I just want to see who's daring enough to try it in the real world.

Very nice work fusing the world of higher fashion to the screen, not like most bubble gum cinematic performances (i.e. Cofessions of a Shoppaholic, Sex In The City), but much higher and raw state of fashion that I've grown to love.

American Idol Reject

I (Ron Fame) have been very busy this week because of American Idol, & no I didn't make it.
Can I sing: Hell Yeahh.
Am I Gonna Sellout to be on a show that lacks rating: I think not.

There were many people at the audition that could sing there asses off as well as myself but we weren't qualified for the simple fact that we were not goofy enough to bring better ratings to the competition. Many clowns were given golden tickets that day. Realizing how spiteful I may sound to you I'm actually pretty excited still, I was on more than one news channel seen by many people and I was also in the newspaper this morning looking mighty dapper might I add.

Then you have the so called "I'M THE SHXT PEOPLE" like they be hyping themselves all over myspace and ish but if you go to their school they ain't SHXT! Don't front it's just myspace. RELAX! then you have the people who call themselves a whole another name on myspace but that isn't their name like wtf. then you have the girls that look so fresh and bad ass on their page when you see them you get a twirl in your stomach and all of sudden your breakfast and last night dinner is staring back at you. IT'S JUST MYSPACE! Geez Louis. - MYSPACE IS NOT A YOUR PERSONAL IMAGANATION! YOUR WISHES CANNOT COME TRUE ON MYSPACE.
Then you have the boys that STILL be trying to talk to you over myspace like I'm never gonna see you NO! I don't want you to have my number and if you don't know my name it's on page and on my display name do you have a boyfriend. WHY THE FREAK ARE YOU ASKING ? MYSPACE IS NOT A DATING SERVICE!
&nd you have people that wanna be your friend and shxt. like MYSPACE IS NOT A PLACE FOR FRIENDS! Yes I'm sorry to tell you the truth the log in page lied it's a place for enemies.

Rolling Stone Cover: Lady GaGa

For the record, I knew her first! Gaga is the one of the best artist since forever, her album, "The Fame" has been climbing the charts since October 7th, I believe, not sure. But yeah, she's just kickin everyones ASS! Especially now, In this months issue she is featured very....may i say "bubbly" and the best quote is "I don't look like the other perfect little pop singers, I think I look new. I think I'm changing what people think is sexy." I love the cover and I Love Gaga! Buy the magazine this month or click here to be cheap like me and read the articles!

All Tied Up.

This here is a small segment of my tie collection. It's actually pretty funny how a tie can make ALMOST any outfit look dapper & gentlmen like & gangsterrr at the same time. The only catch is you need to know how to rock it. I myself dress mines up with a cardigan or a simple vest, not an awful vest with stupid graphics (later topic). Fitted jeans, which are straight leg will definitly pick up the flavor for the perfect outfit and theres nothing better than some loafers (for grown people) to make this all the more better.
