Cleo Simone is a person I can say that has unique style, it was great interviewing her on her takes to fashion.
Ron Fame:What influence your taste?
Cleo Simone: hmm...welll....a mix of the 90's and the 70's actuallyy...in fluenced my taste, f**k the 80's thats too common (giggles) thing is....my taste/style never stays the same....I change depending on what's going on in the world and with me! Like every time I'm stressed out or something's bothering me....I just...change something! It makes me feel better.
RF:Whats changed in the world thats made you change the way you dress?
CS:MICHAEL JACKSON MAN!!!THIS F**IN RECESSION! OBAMA, I have a style for every situation.
RF:Really does mean you would walk out your house wearing high watered pants with white socks & gloves? It would make a big statement.
CS:I would...(giggles)but thats more so of what a DIE HARD fan might do. I'm not. It doesnt necessarily mean that I have to take his style. I take more of the personality. like with Michael....not his OOO I LIKE BOYS sh*t....cause I don't believe that was who he really was. I take his HELP the WORLD motto. I might have a GO GREEN moment and incorporate that in my life. Which eventually will change my style
But I do occasionally wear my glove every now and then (giggles) but I did that way before he died.
RF:What type of gloves that's interesting?
CS:Whatever the weather is (giggles). TEXTURE, meaning wool/leather/or even net. I don't just go out and buy some new gloves. I have a whole bunch of gloves. And I cut the fingers out. And rock one!(laugher) they dont nessasarily have to have jewels on them....even though I have some with some that i just glued on (chuckles).It kind of brings out the PUNK in me, ya know!
RF:Cool. So you mentioned punk, does that describe you and your style?
CS:I wouldnt say that....I wear black nail polish every once in a while....but I don't think Im punk...I really don't know what you'd call my style. (urban most of the time)but when i ask people they say i mix styles together. And I have my own style. When it all comes together....so I don't know. What do you think it is!?
RF:I'd say your contemporary, last question, if there was one fashion statement you'd destroy what would it be?
CS:Nothing. Because I think with everything related to fashion you can somehow make it look good. Cause if not it wouldnt be fashion in the firstplace.
